    M-110P Microfluidizer®: A "Plug and Play" Electric Benchtop Laboratory Homogenizer

    The newly updated M-110P electric benchtop homogenizer, with modern touch screen interface, is a premium laboratory model. Powered by a standard 20-amp single-phase electrical outlet, the M-110P requires no compressed air and no hydraulic cooling water to achieve up to 2000 bar (30,000 psi) operating pressure. This versatile laboratory homogenizer conveniently fits under most standard laboratory chemical hoods. A small-volume model (M-110PS) is available.

Using Microfluidizer® fixed-geometry interaction chamber technology and a ceramic (Zirconia) plunger, the M-110P is capable of processing a wide variety of fluids, including oil-in-water emulsions, solids-in-liquid suspensions and cell disruptions — of even the most difficult yeasts and plant cells — in as few as one or two passes. This lab-scale homogenizer delivers a repeatable process that is guaranteed to scale up to pilot and/or production volumes.

How It Works

The on-board 1.5 kW (2 HP) electric-hydraulic drive powers a single-acting intensifier pump. Process pressures are adjustable from 138 – 2068 bar (2,000 – 30,000 psi) to produce the desired product results.

As the reciprocating pump travels through its pressure stroke, it drives the product at constant pressure through fixed-geometry microchannels within the interaction chamber. The product stream accelerates to high velocities, creating high shear and impact forces that cause the desired results. The product exits the interaction chamber, flowing through an external coil, which brings the product to its desired temperature. The product may be recirculated for additional processing or sent to the next step in the process.
